Profile
Helle is a specialist attorney at HaugaardBraad and has worked exclusively with Danish and EU environmental law since 2012.
During her employment with agencies and departments under the Danish Ministry of the Environment, Helle was responsible for the technical and legal aspects of the Danish Planning Act and environmental impact assessment (EIA) rules and regulations. This provided her with solid skills and experience in working with public authorities and legislation as well as with handling complex projects and processes involving many stakeholders.
During her time as a public-sector employee, Helle was a member of the EU Commission’s expert panel under the Environmental Impact Assessment Directives and acted as the administrative contact person for matters related to the Espoo Convention.
Since 2022, she has provided HaugaardBraad’s clients with legal advice in major infrastructure projects for government and local government authorities as well as private enterprises.
Her work especially comprises complex environmental impact assessment processes, with a focus on the Strategic Environmental Assessment Directive (SEA), the Environmental Impact Assessment Directive (EIA), and the Habitats and Water Framework Directives along with complaints under EU law and the Espoo Convention.
